Comments: My sister and I were given gift certificates for your spa, and all was beautiful until check out when (unknown to us) we were hit with a gratuity that was not explained in any previous discussion with your spa when setting up our services. I was appalled at the expectation of a 18-25% gratuity (having never been in this position) and always thought a gratuity was a gift to the provider - not a demand or expectation. This certainly diminished what otherwise had been a beautiful experience. My sister had recovered from cancer and this was to be a celebration - not a fleecing. No one ever indicated that a gratuity was above and beyond the cost and I am furious -- and will never go back to your spa. You came highly recommended but I won't without letting others know that you demand gratuities. Maybe this is commomplace, but when it comes totally unexpected, left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. The total gratuity was an entire paycheck from a job for me, as my sister did not have the financial means to pay for it. I do hope at least those who did a great service for both my sister and me, get the gratuity - as they did the work - not management. Kindly tell me what would have happened had I not had this kind of money available???????? What then? I always thought that the amount of a gratuity is left to a customer - depending on service -- I can tell you, I would never have added another service (the massage) to the $300 gift certificate, so that my sister could enjoy something that would give her a feel good after all that she had been through, had I known in advance of this practice. We certainly would have kept the services within the lovely gift my brother gave us both as to be able to afford this monstrous amount you demanded. It definitely diminished our experience and made it most unpleasant. We won't be back and will tell others. Michele Agostinho

Comments: I recently visited your spa on May 26th for eyelash extensions and paid with a gift certificate. The person who bought the gift certificate was told the price for the extensions would be $195. She had bought the gift certificate for $250 to also include the gratuity. After my initial consultation to see if I was a candidate for the lash extensions and I made my appointment, I again asked the price and was told $195. Upon the final checkout I was told the amount was for $295. I explained and showed the staff member the pamphlet with prices and she stated I had full eyelash extensions and the $195 was for a partial. I am very disappointed that we were very misled in the prices and your staff members should give customers accurate information. Unfortunately I could not give your staff person a gratuity because of the $100 difference in price. I hope this unfortunate mishap does not happen to anyone else. I do not think I will revisit your establishment again.

Comments: Last week I had an 80 min deep tissue massage, my appointment was for 9am. This was my first visit to your facility. When I walked in the temperature was very cool. I commented on it and was told it was because it was early and the building hadn't warmed up yet. The girls at the front were very nice and suggested I wait in the relaxing room. It was also very cool in there as well, as I waited it was uncomfortably cool. Unfortunately the massage room was just as cool and remained that way. I was cold the entire time.I have had a very large number of massages at several places, and this experience was the most uncomfortable. When parts of me was uncovered I was extremely cold. I actually pulled the sheet up over shoulders when my legs were being worked on. The table had a warming blanket but it was not sufficient. I told the masseuse a few times how cold I was. He was nice and apologized, but it was still very cold. The massage itself was good but it is impossible to relax and enjoy a massage if your skin and body are cold. I also like to add that the particular room I was in had a water massage machine and the room felt very crowded. I was very disappointed in my experience at your spa. The massage cost of 125.00 for 80 minutes should have been much better. When I was finished the girls at the front desk asked how my massage was and I told then how cold it was, they said they would mention to the person in charge. I am surprised that someone has not contacted me in regards to this. Sincerly, Christine Pierce
